Dear Brothers and Sisters at Mt Roskill and Glen Eden Churches and all who receive our online ministry, Greetings to you all in the name of our blessed Lord Jesus.
I do trust this message finds you keeping well in body and that your soul has been well nourished as we have ministered the word of God to you through the internet.
Firstly I would like to thank you all on behalf of my fellow ministers, for your love and prayers for us all, it certainly is a privilege to be able to encourage Gods people and to reach out with the message of hope in Christ. Please continue to pray daily for yourselves and your families, your brothers and sisters, and to especially remember our senior folk and those who are not well at this time.
We do miss you all, and we look forward to once again be able to worship together, we certainly appreciate how much fellowship with Gods people means when it has been taken away from us. Please feel free to phone or get in touch if you have a need, the church office can be reached on 021 1372879 during office hours and we are in contact with staff.
It’s great to hear that the young people are keeping in touch with each other and our Youth Pastors, modern technology has certainly been a blessing when you consider instant communication. May God continue to bless your lives and to keep the flame of knowing more of Jesus alive in our hearts. We live in momentous and unpredictable times so keep close to Jesus as His coming will be like a thief in the night 2 Peter 3:10.
We now have changed to level 2 in this fight against COVID-19, and while it is now possible for most to go back to work and to travel a little, and children to go back to school, unfortunately this has not brought any good news regarding Church meetings.
The governments brief for gatherings at Level Two are:
- No more than 10 people.
- No longer than 2 hours on premises.
- Keeping hygiene standards of cleaning before, during and after meetings.
- Sign in for contact tracing records.
- Continue with social distancing.
- If you feel slightly sick or unwell…STAY AT HOME!!!!
- While at home and about, keep clean and stay safe for your sake and others who you meet.
Unfortunately, we still cannot have services at our churches at this time and will continue with our online services. Even if in a couple of weeks this changes to 50 or 100, we still would not be able to have a full meeting. However when the day comes that we can have 100 we will have some alternatives in place so that there will be an opportunity for fellowship.
In the meantime we ask that church key holders continue to not access our church buildings until further notice.
To once again quote a Scripture that has often been repeated lately, Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
And truly our hope and trust must be in Jesus, Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Keep trusting, keep looking, keep believing, keep reading and praying.
God Bless you all richly in Christ Jesus
